Overview

Patrick J. King focuses his practice on patent prosecution and counseling and post-grant proceedings. He works with domestic and international clients on a variety of intellectual property matters in various industries, including semiconductor equipment and manufacturing; plasma etching; ion implantation; integrated chip fabrication; FPGAs; image processing; electro-mechanical devices; display technologies; particle detection; mechanical devices; and steel manufacturing and scrap.

He has extensive experience drafting and prosecuting utility and design patent applications, responding to office actions, counseling clients on IP portfolio strategies, drafting appeal briefs and motions for reconsiderations, and performing patentability analysis. Prior to joining Fish & Richardson, Patrick was a patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, where he assessed the patentability of inventions in the electrical engineering field.
