About Josh

Joshua Carrigan is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Fish & Richardson P.C. He focuses his practice on patent litigation, including legal research and litigation strategy development. Mr. Carrigan was previously a summer associate at the firm in 2019 and 2020.

Prior to his legal career, Mr. Carrigan was a submarine officer in the U.S. Navy, where he served aboard the nuclear attack submarines USS Minnesota (SSN-783) and USS South Dakota (SSN-790). Mr. Carrigan saw South Dakota through its initial construction at Electric Boat Shipyard, including the reactor plant’s initial operation at power. He served in various billets including assistant engineer, assistant weapons officer, operational safety officer, main propulsion assistant, and damage control assistant. Mr. Carrigan continues to serve as a lieutenant commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve as a theater undersea warfare watch officer.
