About Christopher

Christopher Hoffman focuses his practice on trademark and copyright prosecution and counseling. As a former trademark examining attorney at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), he has extensive experience evaluating the registrability of marks and handling factual and legal questions including likelihood of confusion, use of marks in commerce, descriptive or generic uses of marks, acquired distinctiveness, and functionality. His time at the USPTO also provided substantial experience in analyzing issues of lawful use for trademarks in the cannabis industry under the Controlled Substances Act and the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. In addition, he has practiced before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB).

Christopher utilizes his knowledge of trademark practice and procedure to provide diligent counseling on trademark clearance, prosecution of trademark applications, and handling of appeals, oppositions, and cancellations before the TTAB.
