Background

Ryan Teel is an associate in the litigation group in Fish & Richardson’s Washington D.C. office and is also a registered Patent Attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.  Mr. Teel has experience representing clients nationwide in federal court, including federal district courts, the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the 7th and Federal Circuits, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and the International Trade Commission.  He has handled various aspects of both offensive and defensive complex litigation, including pre-suit investigations, fact and expert discovery, preparation and defense of depositions, motions practice, and appeals.  Mr. Teel also has experience representing clients in commercial arbitrations under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR).

Mr. Teel also devotes a portion of his professional time to pro bono matters, including working with The Veterans Consortium Pro Bono Program to provide assistance to unrepresented veterans who have filed appeals at the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.  Most recently, he successfully obtained vacatur and remand of an adverse Board of Veterans’ Appeals decision.

Mr. Teel was previously a Summer Associate at Fish, and served as an Intern for the Honorable Michelle C. Childs for the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina prior to joining the firm.
