Background

Neil Warren focuses his practice on both federal district court litigation and inter partes review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) with client technologies relating to semiconductors, integrated circuits, medical devices, computer software, and fintech.

Mr. Warren is an experienced trial attorney and has participated in numerous federal court jury trials in districts across the United States. He has taken direct examinations and cross-examinations at multiple jury trials and has argued numerous trial motions and charge conferences.  He has argued before numerous federal courts, including summary judgment, Daubert, and Markman hearings.  Mr. Warren handles many depositions, including technical depositions, expert witnesses, corporate 30(b)(6) witnesses, inventors, and fact witnesses from a wide range of technical fields.

Mr. Warren is also an experienced lead counsel before the PTAB, including representing both petitioner and patent owner. He has handled several dozen inter partes review proceedings from petition to final decision, including handling depositions and oral argument.

In addition, Mr. Warren has over a decade of experience as a software developer and source code reviewer, including several years of recent experience developing software, both application and protocol, for open source blockchain projects (including developer competition awards). Mr. Warren is now actively advising clients on intellectual property matters related to blockchain and cryptocurrency technology, bringing his own voice to the recent growth in this sector.
