Background

Christopher Ma is a Principal in the Washington, D.C., office of Fish & Richardson. Mr. Ma’s practice emphasizes intellectual property portfolio management and counseling.

He has counseled a large variety of clients from Fortune 100 companies to individual solo inventors in the preparation and prosecution of US and non-US patent applications in computer software and hardware. He also has experience with due diligence in connection with technology acquisitions and patent litigation matters.

In particular, Mr. Ma has significant experience in inventions involving user interfaces and human-computer interaction, consumer electronics, home and business automation, cloud services, search engines, data analytics, image recognition, and speech recognition.

Mr. Ma additionally served as in-house patent counsel for more than half a year while on secondment with a Fortune 100 company, and brings in-house insight from that experience to enhance client service.

Mr. Ma also devotes a portion of his professional time to pro bono matters, including working on patent matters referred through the California Lawyers for the Arts and Federal Circuit Bar Association (FCBA).
