Background

Dr. Angela Follett’s national practice focuses on patent prosecution, portfolio development advice, and strategic patent counseling. Her work includes due diligence, freedom-to-operate and patentability analyses, life cycle management strategies, and patent opinions. As a Principal in the Twin Cities Office, she represents clients in the life sciences, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries located across the country and around the world. Her clients range from start-up and emerging companies to academic and research institutions.

Dr. Follett has extensive expertise in the areas of small molecule pharmaceuticals, drug formulations, drug delivery, new methods of treatment, biopharmaceuticals, small molecules (including inorganic or metal containing small molecules), imaging agents, nanotechnologies, nutraceutical formulations, agricultural formulations, and green/environmental chemistries. In the small molecule pharmaceutical area, she has managed global patent portfolios directed to clinical candidates and approved new chemical entities, including facilitating patent term extension and accelerated prosecution.

Dr. Follett was previously a Technology Specialist (2006-2011) and an Associate (2011-2017) with Fish & Richardson.
