Twenty-Three People From Fish & Richardson Honored by California Lawyers Association With Wiley W. Manuel Certificate for Pro Bono Legal Services

In recognition of their pro bono work during the 2022 calendar year, 23 people from Fish & Richardson were honored by the California Lawyers Association (CLA) with the Wiley W. Manuel Certificate for completing over 50 hours of pro bono service.

“An integral part of Fish’s culture is supporting pro bono work,” said Principal Esha Bandyopadhyay. “For me, pro bono work has the capacity to positively impact lives. I am cognizant of the gravity of this work and consider myself fortunate to have the opportunity to improve the livelihoods of my clients.”

The Wiley W. Manuel Certificate for Pro Bono Legal Services has been awarded since 1989 to recognize the Californian lawyers, law students, paralegals, and secretaries who volunteer their time and efforts to assist low-income clients with at least 50 hours of pro bono work annually. The certificate honors the memory of Justice Wiley W. Manuel, the first African American Justice of the California Supreme Court.

“This certificate honors passion and progress,” said Principal Jared Smith. “Fish is deeply dedicated to supporting pro bono work in the communities we live and work in. I am grateful to receive this certificate alongside so many of my talented colleagues.”
