Fish & Richardson Signs Human Rights Campaign’s “Count Us In” Pledge to Reaffirm Commitment to LGBTQ+ Equality in the Workplace

As Pride month draws to a close, Fish & Richardson has once again committed to stand in support of the LGBTQ+ community by signing the Human Rights Campaign’s “Count Us In” pledge.

“This pledge demonstrates that we stand proudly as allies with the LGBTQ+ community,” said Director of Diversity and Inclusion Whitney Smallwood. “We strive to foster a culture of respect where employees of all identities have support and access to the benefits and care they need and deserve.”

The Human Rights Campaign partnered with GLAAD (formerly the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) to encourage employers and businesses to reaffirm their support of LGBTQ+ inclusion and equality by signing the “Count Us In” pledge for action and visibility. The pledge commits organizations to publicly support and give voice to the LGBTQ+ community.

“Our words mean nothing without action behind them,” said Principal and Rainbow Fish Affinity Group Chair Jeremy Saks. “Fish is an active advocate and ally to this vibrant community, and that’s why the Human Rights Campaign continues to rank us so highly in their Corporate Equality Index.”

Diversity and inclusion are a top priority for Fish. The firm promotes a creative and inclusive culture that values the diversity of people, experiences, perspectives, talents, and capabilities. One of the ways this is supported is through affinity and allyship groups. In addition to the Rainbow Fish affinity group, Fish has an Allyship affinity group that strives to remove the barriers that impede diverse employees from contributing their talents to the community.
