Casa Cornelia Law Center Recognizes Principal Alex Gelberg for Pro Bono Advocacy
Fish & Richardson Principal Alex Gelberg has been named a recipient of Casa Cornelia Law Center’s 2026 Pro Bono Publico award, presented annually to a select group of volunteer attorneys who demonstrate an exceptional commitment to pro bono service. Casa Cornelia serves the greater San Diego County immigrant community, providing legal services to victims of human and civil rights violations.
A patent litigator at Fish, Gelberg has maintained an extensive pro bono practice throughout his legal career, with a particular focus on immigration and civil rights matters. He began his partnership with Casa Cornelia in 2025 and currently works alongside the organization to represent several clients in immigration court proceedings. Gelberg’s pro bono advocacy is deeply rooted in his personal experience. “I am an immigrant myself, and immigration has never been an abstract practice area for me,” he says. “I am honored to receive this recognition and grateful for the opportunity to use my legal skills in service of my community.”
Award recipients were recognized at Casa Cornelia’s 19th annual La Mancha Awards Ceremony on October 15 in La Jolla, California.
