Fish is proud to announce that Principal Jeffrey Mok has been named a 2022 Leadership Council for Legal Diversity (LCLD) Fellow and Associates Excylyn Hardin-Smith and Usman Khan, Ph.D., have been selected for LCLD’s Pathfinder program. Fish has participated in LCLD’s programs for the past 11 years with 24 attorneys selected for these prestigious programs.

The Fellows program launched in 2011 and was designed for lawyers with eight to 15 years of experience. It is an intensive, yearlong professional development program that mentors the legal industry’s diverse leaders of tomorrow. Pathfinders is a seven-month professional program designed to train high-performing, early-career attorneys on foundational leadership- and relationship-building. The program provides participants with the opportunity to learn from top leaders in the legal profession along with experts in the fields of learning and development and executive coaching.

“We are really pleased that Jeff, Excylyn, and Usman are part of this year’s Fellows and Pathfinders programs,” said Ahmed J. Davis, Fish principal and national chair of the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion initiative. “I look forward to their continued growth as leaders and strong commitment to our diversity and inclusion efforts, both within and outside of our firm.”

Mok is a principal in Fish’s New York office and focuses his practice on IP litigation and counseling for domestic and international companies. His work spans a variety of technical areas and industries, including software, consumer products, wireless communications, semiconductor technology, automotive technology, and financial services. Mok received his J.D. from New York University School of Law and his B.S. in electrical engineering from Columbia University.

Hardin-Smith is an associate in Fish’s New York office. Her practice focuses primarily on patent litigation, and she has experience litigating patents in the fields of biotechnology, medical devices, financial services, and computer software. Hardin-Smith received her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and her B.A. in political science from Tufts University.

Khan is an associate in Fish’s Washington, D.C., office. His practice focuses on post-grant proceedings and U.S. and international patent prosecution. Khan has prosecuted almost 1,000 patent applications and has represented petitioners in numerous post-grant matters.  Khan leverages his blended experience in procuring and invalidating patents to provide strategic counseling and assistance to his clients in patent prosecution and litigation matters. Khan received his J.D. from George Mason University School of Law and his B.Sc., M.S, and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Tufts University.
