Recognized for Distinguished Leadership, Melanie Green Elected Fellow of the College of Law Practice Management
Fish & Richardson’s Chief Client Development & Marketing Officer Melanie Green has been named a 2026 Fellow of the College of Law Practice Management, one of the legal profession’s most selective honors recognizing excellence and leadership in law practice management.
Fellow selection is by invitation only, with candidates nominated by peers and elected by the College’s Board of Trustees in recognition of contributions that have advanced how legal services are delivered, managed, and experienced. The College’s nearly 300 fellows represent a wide range of disciplines across law firms, legal departments, service providers, academia, and the public sector.
“We see Melanie’s impact every day—in her thoughtful leadership, the trust she builds, and the creative energy she brings to the firm,” said Kristine McKinney, chief operating officer. “We’re proud to see her honored by her peers and welcomed into a group that reflects the very best of law practice management.”
For nearly 25 years, Green has built a reputation in the legal industry for transforming marketing and business development functions into collaborative, strategic teams focused on client needs and measurable impact. She is particularly known for her leadership in client feedback programs and for guiding firms through periods of change, including leadership transitions, law firm combinations, and the launch of new strategic initiatives.
In her role at Fish, Green leads a multidisciplinary client development and marketing department spanning business development, client relations, communications, branding, digital marketing, events, and marketing operations. A trusted advisor to firm leadership, she partners closely with the firm’s executive team and practice leaders to align strategy, strengthen client relationships, and support long-term growth.
Green has also made significant contributions beyond her firm roles. She has been an active leader within the Legal Marketing Association for more than two decades, sharing best practices and mentoring peers across the profession. She has also served in leadership roles within Lex Mundi’s marketing and business development community, helping strengthen collaboration among firms worldwide, and on the board of the Legal & Professional Services Council during its formative years. Outside the legal industry, Green served for many years on the board of Indiana Sports Corp, supporting efforts that helped establish Indianapolis as a premier host city for major sporting events, including its first Super Bowl. She is currently a member of the organization’s Women’s Sports Council.
The College of Law Practice Management honors professionals whose work reflects the highest standards of leadership, innovation, and service to the profession. As a fellow, Green joins a distinguished group recognized for shaping the future of law practice management through both practice and thought leadership.
