Fish Named "Intellectual Property Boutique Firm of the Year" by LMG Life Sciences

LMG Life Sciences recently named Fish & Richardson its 2021 "Intellectual Property Boutique Firm of the Year" at the organization's annual LMG Life Sciences Awards. This is the second year in a row that Fish has received this recognition.

"The attorneys in our Life Sciences Group have demonstrated time and again that they know how to get results in complex, technically sophisticated matters," said Jonathan Singer, leader of the firm's Life Sciences Litigation Group. "This recognition is a reflection of the outstanding successes we've achieved for our clients in recent years."

Among those successes are the reversal of a $1.2 billion judgment against Fish client Kite Pharma, as well as Fish's representation of Gilead in a complex patent battle over Gilead's blockbuster hepatitis C drugs, which resulted in the reversal of a $2.5 billion jury verdict - at that time, the largest patent damages award in history.

In addition to being named "Intellectual Property Boutique Firm of the Year," Fish and its attorneys were shortlisted in a number of other prestigious categories, including:

  • Firm of the Year - Intellectual Property
  • General Patent Litigation Firm of the Year
  • Hatch-Waxman Litigation Firm of the Year - Branded
  • Patent Strategy Firm of the Year
  • Inter-Partes Review Firm of the Year
  • General Patent Litigator of the Year - California: Jonathan Singer
  • General Patent Litigator of the Year - Midwest: Dorothy Whelan
  • General Patent Litigator of the Year - New England: Frank Scherkenbach
