Fish & Richardson Introduces 2025 Fall Associate Class

Fish & Richardson is pleased to welcome its 2025 fall associate class. This year’s cohort of 15 associates brings outstanding academic credentials and vast technical insight, reflecting Fish’s continued commitment to excellence in intellectual property law as well as top-tier client service.

The new associates will contribute across Fish’s litigation practice, including work in patent, trademark, and copyright matters at the district and appellate levels. Fourteen of the 15 were previously summer associates with the firm and are already well-acquainted with Fish’s collaborative culture and clients-first approach to practicing law.

“This class brings an exceptional blend of academic achievement and hands-on experience, with backgrounds in engineering, computer science, life sciences, and chemistry,” said Corrin Drakulich, Fish’s global head of litigation. “We are excited to welcome this accomplished class of associates and look forward to the energy and excellence they will bring to our litigation practice.”

Atlanta

Thomas Grant Brunson represents clients in patent litigation concerning a wide range of mechanical and biomedical engineering technologies. He earned his J.D. from Emory University School of Law and earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biomedical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He was a summer associate with Fish in 2023 and 2024.

Dallas

James Mullen represents clients in patent litigation involving transportation, aerospace and defense, and electrical and computer technologies. He earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Utah State University and his J.D. from Duke University School of Law, where he served as managing editor of the Duke Law Journal. He was a summer associate with Fish in 2023.

Delaware

Delaney Doran advises life sciences clients in patent litigation matters involving biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. She earned her bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Boston University and her J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law. Before practicing law, she worked as a research scientist in the biotherapeutics analytical development division at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine.

Ravi Gandhi represents clients in patent litigation, with a focus on electrical and computer technology, software, internet, and hardware. He earned his bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from the University of Pittsburgh’s Swanson School of Engineering and his J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law. He was a summer associate with Fish in 2023 and 2024.

Vidhu Joshi focuses his work on patent litigation involving life sciences and pharmaceutical innovations. He earned his bachelor’s degree in genetics from the University of Western Ontario, his master’s degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and his J.D. from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law, where he served as staff writer and online editor of the Villanova Law Review. Before law school, he conducted clinical research at Mayo Clinic and was a law clerk for U.S. Senator Chris Coons on the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary. He was a summer associate with Fish in 2023 and 2024.

Houston

Nicholas Valencia represents clients in litigation involving mechanical systems and physics-driven innovations. He earned his J.D. from Texas A&M University School of Law, where he served as a note and comment editor of the Texas A&M Journal of Property Law. Valencia holds a bachelor’s degree in manufacturing and mechanical engineering technology from Texas A&M University. Before law school, he worked as a lead project controls engineer at Kiewit Energy U.S. He was a summer associate with Fish in 2023 and 2024.

Minneapolis

C. Eric Osborn advocates for clients in litigation and post-grant proceedings involving a wide array of electrical and computer technologies. He earned his J.D. from the University of St. Thomas School of Law, where he served as a senior editor of the University of St. Thomas Law Journal. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from California Polytechnic State University. Before law school, he worked as an electronics design engineer. He was a summer associate with Fish in 2023 and 2024.

Evan Falk focuses his work on patent litigation in the energy, chemical, and petrochemical industries. Before earning his J.D. from Columbia Law School, he worked as a chemical engineer for Fortune 500 companies and as a process development and manufacturing technology engineer. He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Tennessee. He was a summer associate with Fish in 2023 and 2024.

New York

Mona Ziaei represents clients in litigation involving matters concerning biotechnologies. She earned her J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she served as an editor of the Cardozo Law Review. Ziaei holds a master’s degree in biomedical engineering from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from George Washington University. She was a summer associate with Fish in 2024.

San Diego

Julius (JP) Elberfeld, Pharm.D., represents clients in the life sciences and pharmaceutical industries in litigation and appellate matters. He began his career as a pharmacist after earning his Pharm.D. from Rutgers University’s Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy before pursuing his J.D. at the University of California, Irvine School of Law. He was a summer associate with Fish in 2023 and 2024.

Silicon Valley

Linda Chang represents clients in litigation involving electrical and computer technologies. Before pursuing law, she worked as a senior software engineer at Nasdaq. She earned her bachelor’s degree in computer science from Brown University and her master’s degree in computer science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. At the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, she earned her J.D. and served as senior online content editor of the Berkeley Technology Law Journal, managing editor of the Asian American Law Journal, and senior technology editor of the Berkeley Business Law Journal. She was a summer associate with Fish in 2023 and 2024.

Xiangjiu Wu represents clients in patent litigation across a range of technologies, with a focus on mechanical engineering and innovations that integrate software and hardware components. She earned her bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Toronto and her master’s degree in the same discipline from the University of California, Berkeley. Before completing her J.D. at the University of Chicago Law School, she was a summer associate with Fish in 2023 and 2024.

Washington D.C.

William Wheeler supports clients in the electrical and computer technology and transportation, aerospace, and defense industries in patent litigation matters. He earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland and his J.D. from Boston College Law School, where he served as editor of the Boston College Law Review. He was a summer associate with Fish in 2024.

Woohyeong Cho focuses his work on patent litigation in the electrical and computer technology sectors. He previously served as a U.S. Patent and Trademark Office examiner reviewing patent applications for optical measurement devices. He earned his J.D. from Columbia Law School and his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Virginia. He was a summer associate with Fish in 2024.

Xiaoqi Long represents clients in patent litigation matters across the electrical and computer technology industries. She earned her bachelor’s degree in computer science from the California Institute of Technology and her J.D. from Yale Law School, where she served as articles editor of the Yale Journal of Law & Technology and editor of the Yale Journal of Law and Feminism. Before entering law, she conducted research at Yale’s Economic Growth Center, Stanford’s RegLab, and Caltech. She was a summer associate with Fish in 2023 and 2024.
