Fish & Richardson Celebrates Opening of Chicago Office with Exclusive Inside Look

Fish & Richardson has officially opened its new office in Chicago, marking the 15th worldwide location for the intellectual property law firm. Located in the city’s West Loop, the office formally establishes Fish’s presence in one of the nation’s premier legal markets.

Spanning more than 4,300 square feet, the space was designed to foster collaboration and support the delivery of world-class intellectual property litigation and patent services. The Chicago team serves clients across a range of industries, including life sciences, technology, and manufacturing.

“We’re proud to officially open our doors in Chicago,” said John Adkisson, president and chief executive officer. “This office reflects our commitment to being where our clients need us and continuing to deliver top-tier IP services.”

Fish’s growing team in Chicago includes six attorneys and a technology specialist/patent agent who provide both litigation and patent prosecution services. Louis Fogel serves as the office managing principal. The firm first announced plans to expand into the market in early 2025, building on years of work in the region and longstanding client relationships.

“Chicago is an incredible city with a deep bench of talent, a vibrant innovation ecosystem, and a strong legal community,” said Louis Fogel, office managing principal. “We’re excited to open our doors here. This space gives us a home base to collaborate more closely with clients, connect with colleagues, and continue providing the highest level of IP counsel.”
