Fish & Richardson Firm Members Named 2025 Up & Coming Attorney, Unsung Legal Hero
Minnesota Lawyer has recognized Fish & Richardson Associate Kiersten Batzli as a 2025 Up & Coming Attorney, an award honoring rising attorneys who have distinguished themselves through professional achievements and community leadership. Additionally, IP Operations Systems Specialist Katie Snell has been named a 2025 Unsung Legal Hero, which commends the most talented and dedicated legal support professionals in Minnesota.
Kiersten Batzli focuses her practice on patent prosecution, strategic counseling, and post-grant review, working to protect innovations developed at start-ups, small businesses, universities, and large corporations. She holds a Ph.D. in materials science and engineering from the University of Michigan, and this rigorous background informs her work with a variety of cutting-edge technologies, ranging from medical devices and health and fitness wearables to semiconductors, unmanned aerial vehicles, and video games. Outside of her work for IP clients, Batzli is a committee member in the PTAB Bar Association, invests significant time in her pro bono practice, and is passionate about supporting and educating junior post-grant practitioners at Fish.
Katie Snell supports the firm’s IP Practice Group as a trusted resource for finding and implementing efficient processes and technical solutions to meet business needs. She is a go-to expert at Fish for optimizing document intake processes, enhancing form design, generating complex reports, and overseeing system administration. Her recent accomplishments include serving as the creative force behind several data visualization dashboards that illuminate key operational data, significantly advancing the team’s strategic insights. A dedicated mentor within the IP group, she also leads training initiatives across diverse teams and practice areas, fostering knowledge-sharing and consistency.
