Fish & Richardson and Principal Eric Peng Named in 2025 WIPR China International Patent Rankings
World IP Review (WIPR) has included Fish & Richardson in its 2025 China International Patent Rankings, recognizing the firm in both the Contentious and Non-Contentious categories. In addition, Principal Eric Peng received individual recognition as a recommended attorney in the Non-Contentious category.
The WIPR China International Patent Rankings identify leading global law firms and legal professionals for their work in the landscape of China’s patent law. According to WIPR, “The firms featured in the International Patents Rankings are distinguished by their ability to seamlessly blend global reach with deep local Chinese IP expertise.” Individual professionals are recognized for their “profound impact and demonstrated excellence across the field.”
Fish's office in Shenzhen — one of the world’s most vital technology hubs — serves as the base of operations for the firm’s China practice. In addition to a dedicated support team on the ground in Shenzhen, Fish is home to a legal staff that includes over 40 fluent Chinese speakers. The firm also has a large contingent of U.S. attorneys who regularly travel to China for client support, and routinely offers webinars, CLEs, and training sessions custom-tailored for Chinese audiences.
In his global patent prosecution practice, Peng helps Chinese clients protect their valuable IP in the U.S. and abroad by creating durable patents designed to withstand the test of litigation. Throughout his career, he has worked with some of the largest corporations in China, helping them to achieve their IP objectives through consultation, strategy development, opinion work, and litigation due diligence services. He is a co-founder of Fish’s Shenzhen office.
