Background

Weisheng (Wilson) Xie is a Technology Specialist in the Dallas office of Fish & Richardson. Prior to joining the firm, Dr. Xie worked in the Strategic Planning Group of Fujitsu Network Communications, responsible for creating a strategy to guide company’s long-term product directions in the area of access networks. Dr. Xie was also responsible for the designs and optimizations of telecommunications networks, in particular metro transport networks and 5G access networks on packet and optical layers.

Dr. Xie has extensive experience in developing and evaluating optimization algorithms for telecommunications networks using combined knowledge of computer science and electrical engineering. His technical specialties include combinatorial optimization, mixed integer linear programming, queuing theory, Monte Carlo simulations, IP/MPLS/OTN/WDM, SDN/NFV, 5G wireless and xHaul networks, cloud networking, etc. He is also familiar with machine learning and blockchain technologies and is well-versed in many computer languages including Java, Matlab, SQL, CPLEX, Excel VBA, etc. Dr. Xie holds 30 peer-reviewed research papers and 8 US patents/patent applications.
