Overview

Kellie Van Beck represents life sciences innovators in complex litigation involving pharmaceuticals, biologics, and other healthcare-related technologies.

Kellie’s background spans patent, antitrust, life sciences, and pharmaceutical disputes, including litigation under the Biologics Price Competition and Innovation Act (BPCIA) and appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Her experience encompasses pre-suit due diligence, case strategy, motion practice, fact and expert discovery, and appellate proceedings. She regularly drafts pleadings, infringement and validity contentions, discovery requests, dispositive and discovery-related motions, expert declarations, and appellate briefs, while leading witness preparation and assisting with deposition strategy and preparation. 

In law school, Kellie served as the editor-in-chief of the Brooklyn Law Review. She also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Joan M. Azrack of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.

Prior to her career in law, Kellie worked for the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, where she focused on research and policy development in the area of tobacco control and cancer prevention. Her deep technical background also includes serving as an epidemiology consultant, where she conducted epidemiologic research to help pharmaceutical clients evaluate disease areas for future therapeutic research and development. Kellie holds a Master of Public Health in epidemiology from Columbia University, and her research has been published in several peer-reviewed scientific journals. 

When she’s not at work, Kellie enjoys trying new restaurants, traveling, and spending time with her husband and their two children.
