Overview

Evan Sumner, Ph.D., leverages his life sciences technical background to effectively represent clients in complex patent disputes involving pharmaceuticals, biologics, and medical devices.  

Evan has extensive experience litigating Hatch-Waxman and other life sciences cases that span a wide variety of pharmaceutical compounds, formulations, and treatment methods for conditions such as post-surgical pain, depression, heart failure/hypertension, and COVID.  

Evan manages all stages of U.S. district court litigation, from the due diligence phase through trial and appeal. He also has experience practicing before the International Trade Commission.  

Before practicing law, Evan was an extern at the United States Patent and Trademark Office where he gained insight into the workings of the patent office and how examiners approach prosecution. While in graduate school, Evan’s research focus was drug design and pharmacology.
