DJ Healey Named to the 2020 "Top Women in IP" list by Texas Lawyer
Fish & Richardson Principal DJ Healey has received the "Top Women in IP" award by Texas Lawyer. The virtual awards show was held on September 17th, 2020 announcing the 2020 Texas Legal Awards honorees and Healey was one of three attorneys recognized in the "Top Women in IP" category. The award highlights senior IP attorneys for their professional achievements, as well as and community and pro bono accomplishments.
Healey's practice focuses on patent litigation and related antitrust and tort claims. She has tried cases in the federal and state courts, International Trade Commission, International Chamber of Commerce (Arbitration), American Arbitration Association, NASD Arbitration Forum, and private arbitration. Healey has argued appeals in the Federal Circuit, Fifth Circuit and Fourth Circuit Courts of Appeals, and was counsel on a recent patent case in the Supreme Court of the United States. She has also litigated and won cases in state courts throughout the U.S. and has argued before every level of the Texas court system: trial courts, courts of appeals and the Texas Supreme Court.
Healey has been committed to pro bono work, especially in the areas of civil rights, since 1987. In 2019, she spent countless hours on pro bono matters for Immigration Equality, the leading national LGBTQ immigrant rights organization; Organization Latina Trans de Texas; the ACLU; the Human Trafficking Pro Bono Center; Lambda Legal; the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund; the National LGBT Bar; and Equality Texas.
