Esha Bandyopadhyay Named a 2020 Top Trade Secrets Lawyer by the Daily Journal

Fish & Richardson Principal Esha Bandyopadhyay was named a Top Trade Secrets Lawyer by the Daily Journal for her achievements on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants in intellectual property trade secret litigation.

Bandyopadhyay told the California legal newspaper that she became interested in IP law during a class on the subject while attending the University of California, Berkeley School of Law. "I loved all four aspects of it patents, trade secrets, trademarks and copyrights and I knew that's what I would do."

Among the many trade secret litigation matters Bandyopadhyay is involved in, the publication highlighted her current work in an ongoing, high-profile trade secret litigation case over software for automated advertisement creation. She is part of the Fish team representing a plaintiff that alleges streaming giant Spotify used trade secret information it received during a conversation over a potential partnership to develop a competing technology.

Bandyopadhyay's extensive community commitments were also noted, including her active memberships with the Silicon Valley Intellectual Property Law Association and the Women's Intellectual Property Lawyers Association. Outside of the legal industry, Bandyopadhyay is a dedicated leader to causes that support women, children, minorities, and the arts. She serves on the Board of Directors of Legal Momentum – the Women's Legal Defense and Education Fund (formerly the National Organization of Women) and is the founder and chair of the American Indian Foundation's Bay Area Circle of Hope, a cohort of local women who back AIF's mission of supporting established and vetted non-governmental organizations in India that develop projects for those in need.
