Fish & Richardson was named the #1 law firm representing defendants in patent litigation in U.S. district courts for 2018 by Managing Intellectual Property (MIP). Fish retains its previous 2017 ranking as the top patent defense firm in the country. The firm represented defendants in 141 cases - as well as plaintiffs in 54 cases - for a total of 195 cases in 2018.

Three Fish attorneys made the top 10 list of attorneys representing defendants in new patent cases, including Neil McNabnay with 66 cases, Ricardo Bonilla with 46 cases, and Jeremy Anderson with 42 cases. Fish attorneys Theresa Dawson (24 cases) and David Conrad (15 cases) also made the list of top patent defense attorneys.

"The biggest companies in the world turn to Fish to defend their innovations in high-stakes patent disputes with millions of dollars on the line," said Kurt Glitzenstein, Practice Group Leader of the firm's Litigation Group. "Our unrivaled trial lawyers, experience in every major court across the country, and extensive technical expertise in nearly every field means clients can count on us to deliver winning results."

MIP analyzed data from the Docket Navigator database on each case filed in 2018 to determine the top plaintiffs and defendants, the top law firms for plaintiffs and defendants, and the top attorneys for plaintiffs and defendants. Founded in 1990, MIP is an international magazine for in-house IP counsel and a leading source of news and analysis on all IP developments worldwide.
