Overview

Warren Mabey focuses on patent litigation in cases involving cutting-edge technologies, primarily in the areas of electrical engineering, computer science, and consumer electronics.

Warren represents clients in District Court cases, asserting and defending infringement claims in complex, high-stakes matters. His experience runs the gamut in electrical and computer technologies from chips to chargers, routers, power converters, and a host of other innovations.

Many of Warren’s clients are U.S.-based consumer-facing companies, but he also represents a number of overseas businesses, which he guides through the patent system and litigation. When advising clients, Warren looks beyond the immediate issue to create strategies that give his clients leverage and set them on a path for a successful future. Sometimes that means aggressive litigation and a full-force battle, while other times it means negotiating a favorable licensing agreement or another type of settlement.

In addition to maintaining an active legal practice, Warren is the recruiting principal of Fish & Richardson’s Delaware office. He spearheads hiring and spends a considerable amount of time mentoring newer lawyers.

Warren served as a law clerk for the Honorable Raymond T. Chen of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit from 2016 to 2017, as well as for the Honorable Joseph H. Rodriguez of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey from 2010 to 2011. He knows firsthand how judges think, how they want cases presented, and which arguments are likely to succeed or fail. Armed with that knowledge, he prepares strong and effective briefs and delivers well-reasoned, clear, and convincing oral arguments.

Before practicing law, Warren worked at the U.S. Department of Defense as an electrical engineer for several years.

When he’s not at work, Warren can be found either exploring the woods with his young children or working on his farm, where he grows many varieties of fruits and vegetables.
