Klaus Reindl is a German and European patent attorney, as well as a Unified Patent Court (UPC) representative, with a primary focus on high-stakes patent litigation in Europe and the U.S. Klaus has experience representing clients in complex, multi-jurisdictional disputes, including litigation before German courts, the UPC, and the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC).
Klaus has successfully defended clients in international enforcement actions, including proceedings before the U.S. ITC, where he developed a defense strategy against infringement allegations and coordinated parallel actions in Europe. Klaus has also experience in handling complex standard-essential patent (SEP) cases. This experience extends to navigating prosecution of SEPs as well as to enforcing SEPs. With a background in electrical engineering and information technology, Klaus works with technologies as varied as smartphones, mobile communications, memory, networking, computer-implemented inventions, hearing aids, and automobiles.
Prior to joining Fish & Richardson, Klaus practiced IP law, including patent prosecution and patent litigation, at a market-leading German IP law firm. Prior to practicing IP law, Klaus was a software engineer and manager at a major cloud computing company, where he managed the design, development, and implementation of audio components for voice-over internet protocol applications.
