Fish & Richardson Moves San Diego Office to One Paseo

Fish & Richardson is moving to One Paseo. The global IP law firm's Southern California office signed a 10-year lease to occupy the entire top fourth floor and one-half of the third floor -32,300 square feet - in a new mid-rise, Class A office building at 12860 El Camino Real, Suite 400 in San Diego.

"We are excited to be relocating to One Paseo, in the heart of San Diego's technology hub," says Roger Denning, managing principal of Fish's Southern California office. "Not only will we remain close to our intellectual property clients, our new office space features cutting-edge functionality that allows us to continue to provide exceptional service to our clients."

San Diego-based Pacific Building Group was the general contractor on the project, which features first-of-its-kind source code rooms, ample meeting space and more. The new office focuses on open, light space with a modern design, which is a hallmark throughout many of Fish's 14 global offices.

The innovative source code rooms are three 9×10-foot, glass-walled rooms specifically designed as observation rooms to allow source code reviewers a monitored place to review code. Fish had a hands-on role in design aspects of the rooms using DIRTT technology, a digital construction process that allows end-users to design a space to their specific needs. Source code review is a critical part of discovery in intellectual property litigation involving computer technology, and having a dedicated space allows for greater efficiencies in client work.

In addition, several of the nine conference rooms in the new office include Casper Cloaking Film, technology specifically designed to ensure confidentiality while displaying critical information on projection screens.

The office was completed largely while COVID-19 stay-at-home orders were in place, following all local rules and industry standards. "For now, we are postponing occupying the new space," Denning added. "The health and safety of our attorneys, staff and clients are our utmost concerns during the COVID-19 pandemic. We look forward to welcoming clients to the new space as soon as we are able."

Fish's Southern California office was established in 1995. With 39 attorneys and technology specialists in Southern California, the firm is well-positioned to serve international clients, especially in Asia and the Pacific Rim, with greater ease and access.
