Fish & Richardson principal Adam Shartzer has been named a 2019 “Client Service All-Star” in BTI Consulting Group’s survey of general counsel from the world’s largest corporations. The prestigious All-Star list highlights lawyers who “deliver incomparable levels of client service excellence” and “demonstrate an unrelenting pursuit to find what best fulfills clients’ needs.”

According to BTI, the five overarching characteristics shared among the All-Stars are superior client focus, unmatched client experience, understanding the client’s business like no other, unparalleled legal skills, and innovative thought leadership. The All-Stars take these elements of client service a step further to truly differentiate their client service from everyone else.

At Fish, Shartzer focuses his practice on high-stakes patent litigation in district courts, before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and at the U.S. International Trade Commission. Recently, he successfully defended more than $5 billion in accused sales, resulting in District Court summary judgment and Federal Circuit appeal victories. Over the past several years, he also has managed or assisted with over 50 inter partes review matters. His cases cover numerous technologies including computer hardware and software, microprocessors, memory, televisions, mobile communication devices, set-top boxes, satellite communications, GPS technology, oil industry technology, and semiconductor manufacturing processes.

Inclusion in the 2019 BTI Client Service All-Star list is based solely on in-depth interviews with more than 350 general counsel and legal decision-makers at large organizations with $1 billion or more in revenue, representing more than 15 industry segments. During those interviews, BTI corporate legal decision-makers single out each All-Star attorney – by name and in an unprompted manner – as delivering the absolute best client service. Law firms and their attorneys have no influence on the rankings.
