USPTO Publishes 2018 Performance and Accountability Report

The USPTO has published its annual Performance and Accountability Report (PAR) for FY 2018. The PAR provides information on the USPTO’s programs and the results of the agency’s programmatic and financial performance over the last year, as well as demonstrates to Congress, the administration, and the public the USPTO’s efforts to promote accountability and transparency. The 2018 PAR specifically charts the agency’s progress toward meeting the goals outlined in the 2014-2018 Strategic Plan, which were:

  • Optimizing patent quality and timeliness,
  • Optimizing trademark quality and timeliness, and
  • Providing domestic and global leadership to improve intellectual property policy, protection, and enforcement worldwide

This year’s PAR is also the first the USPTO has published under the direction of Andrei Iancu.
