Fish & Richardson was proud to commemorate Pro Bono Week 2022 - an occasion to recognize the important work of attorneys who offered their time and expertise to serve those in need year-round.
Pro bono matters at Fish because everyone deserves equal access to justice. With 82% of Fish attorneys participating in over 18,000 hours of pro bono work this year, our efforts resulted in significant and meaningful gains for clients in a wide range of areas including immigration, anti-human trafficking, civil rights, housing, education, and child advocacy.
In honor of pro bono week, Fish recognized the contributions of attorneys across the firm for their time and contributions. In addition, the firm hosted training programs with Kids In Need of Defense (KIND) to prepare more attorneys to engage in pro bono work with the organization, which is devoted to the protection of unaccompanied and separated children. Fish also sponsored and attended KIND's 2022 Annual Gala, Coming Together for Children Alone, to raise support and awareness of the needs of immigrant and refugee children.
Fish is also pleased to announce that Mia Friedman, who has served since 2019 as the firm's Pro Bono Manager, has been promoted to Director of Pro Bono and Social Responsibility. In this new role, she will lead Fish's new broader set of community engagement initiatives, that will extend beyond pro bono to include community service, charitable giving, and sustainability.

Kolodney, chair of Fish's pro bono program. "Recognizing that it is incumbent upon Fish as a global law firm to deliver a broader positive impact, Mia is rolling out a more expansive program that is reflective of Fish's footprint. We are grateful to Mia for elevating the bar and challenging Fish to be the best it can be."
