Fish & Richardson Principal Grace Kim has been named a 2021 “Up & Coming Attorney” by Minnesota Lawyer, which honors young attorneys who have distinguished themselves through professional accomplishment and community leadership. Nikki Krahler and Brandy Wolf have been named 2021 “Unsung Legal Heroes,” which recognizes the most talented and dedicated legal support professionals in Minnesota.

Grace Kim focuses her practice on patent prosecution, client counseling and strategic portfolio development, clearance investigations, patentability analysis and due diligence investigations. Ms. Kim has experience in a variety of mechanical and chemical areas, including medical devices, food and oral compositions, polyolefin-based adhesives, drug delivery technologies, agricultural compositions, bed and sleep systems, semiconductor technologies, diesel engines, filtration systems, hydraulic systems, and fuel systems. Prior to her legal career, Ms. Kim was a research and development engineering manager with Boston Scientific. She earned her B.S. and M.S. from the University of Minnesota before receiving her J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law.

Nikki Krahler is an IP operation specialist, one of an elite team of professionals that make up Fish’s IP Operations Team. Nikki supports the firm’s patent and trademark practices, working with a wide range of internal departments to solve complex problems, drive efficiencies, and anticipate the needs of Fish’s clients. Most recently, Nikki took on the difficult job of developing a process for and leading the training of staff on new, improved processes for “transfer in” patent clients.

Brandy Wolf is an HR manager with responsibility for the human resources functions for both legal and non-legal staff in Fish’s 14 offices. In 2020, when the pandemic introduced new and unexpected challenges, Brandy rose to meet them. Since March of 2020, she has increased mental health support and programming in the office, expanded back-up child and elder care benefits, developed new intranet support groups, and created a new remote onboarding process for the 125 new hires who have joined the firm since it switched to a remote work model.
