Sherman Thompson helps clients navigate intellectual property disputes pertaining to computer science, mathematics, physics, and related technologies.
As a law student, Sherman interned at the International Trade Commission (ITC) Office of General Counsel, where he assisted in advising commissioners on legal matters, prepared litigation materials, researched and drafted memos, and helped strategize and prepare oral arguments for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. His legal experience also includes researching and drafting legal materials for matters before the Federal Circuit, district courts, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and the ITC.
Sherman holds a bachelor’s degree in honors mathematics and physics from the University of Michigan, and his technical expertise also extends to artificial intelligence, software, and hardware. He worked as a research assistant for the university’s Gravitational Wave Group, applying physics, data analysis, noise reduction, and software production to LIGO data.
In his leisure time, Sherman enjoys sailing, jazz piano, and college football.
