Overview

Ethan Kovar focuses his practice on patent litigation for clients in the energy, chemical, and pharmaceutical sectors. He has worked on cases involving chemical processing, industrial power generation, medical devices, and consumer products. Ethan’s legal experience includes drafting complaints, handling discovery, motion practice, and patent diligence.

In 2023 Ethan received his J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he was a James Kent Scholar, recipient of the Carroll G. Harper Prize, and editor-in-chief of the Columbia Science and Technology Law Review. Before law school, he received a B.S. cum laude in chemical engineering from the University of Notre Dame. He then worked as a chemical engineer for BP in its advanced technology products division, designing and producing fuels and lubricants. His engineering background and experience give him technical expertise in chemical processing, oil production and refining, petrochemicals, and tribology.
