Overview

Esther In represents clients in litigation spanning a wide range of electrical and computer engineering technologies. 

Esther’s litigation experience includes drafting motions and memoranda; conducting in-depth research on procedural and substantive patent infringement issues; and assessing client use of open-source software for infringement risks. 

Prior to law school, Esther worked as a spacecraft power engineer at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, where she worked with electronics for Dragonfly, NASA’s mission to Titan. She previously developed Python code for remote automated testing of bench prototypes.

While earning her J.D. at Cornell Law School, Esther was named the 2026 recipient of the Daniel P. Chernoff Prize, an award presented annually by the dean to a student who demonstrates academic excellence in IP and patent law.

When she’s not at work, Esther enjoys learning about new cultures and spending time outdoors.
