Every client benefits from our unmatched institutional know-how.

The body of knowledge and expertise that Fish & Richardson has accumulated over our long history of handling complex patent litigation is second to none. It is one of our most cherished assets. Fish’s Knowledge Management team captures that knowledge and—most importantly—makes it transparent to our attorneys. Our Knowledge Management experts ensure that every client receives the full benefit of our vast institutional experience and technical acumen and that we are continually building on our winning record.

As part of our commitment to the efficient delivery of legal services, our Knowledge Management team collaborates extensively with our various business operations functional teams and Legal Technology Solutions team to build customized resources that automate many of the mundane tasks inherent in the practice of law. The result of these efforts is our eFISHency™ suite of tools, including:

Best Practices

This database of templates, guides, checklists, and training materials allows our attorneys to quickly locate the resources they need, when they need them.

BriefBank

This is the central repository of Fish’s vast institutional legal knowledge, housing case briefs, pleadings, research, trial transcripts, outlines, and demonstratives. BriefBank ensures that our attorneys rarely have to start any project from scratch, resulting in increased productivity, higher-quality work product, and faster turnaround.

FishHub

This proprietary matter management system houses entire case files in a one-stop, centralized location that is accessible by the entire case team. With FishHub, attorneys can instantly access and collaborate on key documents in real time, reducing the need for back-and-forth email communication and accelerating productivity.

Data-Driven Decision-Making Using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning

Fish is at the forefront of integrating machine learning, including Microsoft’s Azure Machine Learning and the Cortana Intelligence Suite. Our Knowledge Management team works closely with our Data Science team to integrate AI into our business to gain insights into how we work and apply those insights to our practice, including:

  • Analyzing budget data from past matters in order to price, budget, and forecast matters with an incredible degree of accuracy
  • Uncovering inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement in our workflows
  • Identifying individuals who excel at performing particular tasks and assigning them to the appropriate case teams

Client Collaboration

Our Knowledge Management and Legal Technology Solutions teams are eager to collaborate with our clients’ internal legal operations teams to develop and implement efficient communication and information-sharing solutions, ensuring that business data is easily accessible, up to date, and organized logically.
