Allen Eastlund, Ph.D., focuses his practice on patent prosecution support in the chemical, medical device, and life sciences industries. He has experience with a broad range of technologies, including machine learning, biotechnology, nanomaterials, augmented reality, optics, and nano-scale manufacturing.
Prior to joining the firm, Allen was a postdoctoral associate at the University of Minnesota, where he studied virology and microbiology in bacteriophage energy kinetics. He also worked as a microbiologist for the nation’s largest maltster, where he planned and developed new gas chromatography methods to quantify barley mold and fungus traces. He holds a doctorate in biophysics from the University of Kansas and a bachelor’s in astrophysics from the University of Minnesota.
