Background

​Frank Gerratana is a Principal in the Boston office of Fish & Richardson. His practice focuses on helping inventors obtain patents in electrical and computer technology, medical devices, and bioinformatics.​ He helps startups and established companies develop and manage their patent portfolios, including patent preparation and prosecution, due diligence, and general counseling. Mr. Gerratana also does extensive pro bono work with the American Civil Liberties Union of Massachusetts and many other organizations. In 2016, Mr. Gerratana was named “Up & Coming Lawyer” by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly and in 2015 he was named a “Rising Star” in SuperLawyers, Massachusetts.

Mr. Gerratana was previously a Summer Associate with the firm (2007). He also performed legal work for the Glushko-Samuelson Intellectual Property Law Clinic at the Washington College of Law (2007-2008) and for the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau at the Federal Communications Commission (2006).

On the technical side, Mr. Gerratana worked in software engineering for ComBrio, Inc. (2004-2005) and in Internet commerce as co-founder of DGN Enterprises (1997-1999). He was also a Teaching Assistant for Computer Science courses at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (2002-2005).
