Background

​Peng (Paul) Lin is an Associate in the Boston office of Fish & Richardson. Dr. Lin’s practice emphasizes patent prosecution and counseling, opinion work, due diligence studies, and patent portfolios development and management.

Prior to Harvard Law School, Dr. Lin received his Ph.D. in Human and Statistical Genetics from Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Lin had extensive research experience and training in human genetics, molecular biology, biophysics, bioinformatics, and biostatistics. Technical areas of Dr. Lin’s prosecution and opinion work include molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, cellular biology, virology, microarray technology, immunology, diagnostic methods, biomarkers, nanoparticle technology, small molecules, and medical devices.

While at Washington University in St. Louis, Dr. Lin also received substantial training in bio-entrepreneurship as a Kauffman fellow. Dr. Lin was also a member of the Gene Environment Association Studies (GENEVA) Work Group, where he led and coordinated different research groups from several universities to find genetic variants that affect human heights.
