Fish Has the Largest IP Practice in the United States

Fish was ranked the largest intellectual property practice in the United States in the September 2008 issue of Managing Intellectual Property magazine (MIP). This is the third year in a row the firm has topped this annual survey. It is also the first time that any IP practice has crossed the 400-practitioners mark. Fish was found to have the largest IP practice in any of the four geographic regions included in the survey — Asia, Europe, the United States, and Canada.

The magazine reported that Fish grew in almost all its offices, but especially in New York, Bay Area/San Francisco, and Atlanta. “Despite starting off as a boutique firm, Fish & Richardson has outgrown its counterparts and is one of the most successful IP firms in the country,” noted MIP.
