The Atlanta office continues the firm's tradition of providing quality legal services to national and international high-tech and high-profile companies, including clients such as Avaya, Google, and Shaw Industries.

The office benefits from the resources of our national presence while maintaining the collegiality of a small-firm atmosphere. The Atlanta office includes attorneys from premier law schools, many with advanced technical degrees in electrical engineering, computer science, and the life sciences.

Like the office itself, the city of Atlanta offers a combination of the attractions of an international city while still maintaining its small-town southern hospitality.

And if you love the outdoors, the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains begin to rise just north of Atlanta, and southeastern Georgia sports the historic city of Savannah and miles of Atlantic coastline.

Further, Georgia's moderate climate offers the possibility of doing outdoor activities in all four seasons, making Atlanta a great place to enjoy year-round outdoor, sporting, and cultural events.

Atlanta offers all this while maintaining a reasonable cost of living.

So, what are you waiting for? Come on down South!

Fish & Richardson's Austin office opened in January 2005 and is located downtown overlooking Austin's Lady Bird Lake. The high-tech but not high-stress city is nestled in the Silicon Hills, and in the Austin office, the atmosphere is no different.

Set in the beautiful Hill Country of Texas, you won't mistake Austin for other cities in Texas. The capitol of Texas is a refreshing blend of the old and the new, the live music capitol of the world, and boasts one of the highest number of college graduates per capita in the country. Whether taking in events at nearby University of Texas, watching the bats fly from the Congress Avenue bridge, or enjoying barbeque, there is no end to the fun in this dynamic city.

Austin is just simply not like the rest of Texas. From the quirky case of characters that populate Congress Avenue to burnt orange-clad University of Texas students, bats to Longhorns, four-star restaurants to down-home barbecue joints, corporate CEO's to struggling musicians, Austin stands apart from the rest. It's hip and trendy, yet in a vintage sort of way. It's high-tech and laid-back. It's politically charged and culturally rich. It's eclectic by nature and creative by design. Most of all, it's a place where people like to have a good time.

Boston has been New England's largest and most important city since the early 1700s. Oliver Wendell Holmes once referred to Boston as "the hub of the universe."

Bostonians have time and again forged world-changing inventions in technology, including the telephone, the microwave, and the Internet. And we have been there to help patent and enforce many of the inventions that have changed the way we live.

Boston is home to our first and largest office. Founded in 1878, the firm represented Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell, and the Wright brothers, and has been a leader in the city's tradition of innovation for more than 130 years.

Our litigation accomplishments are equally impressive today.  The firm handles more patent litigation than does any other law firm in the world. Six recent victories were named to the National Law Journal "Biggest Winners" list, including a defense victory for Microsoft in 2004.

The Patent Prosecution group has been called the "Best in Boston," and the firm was one of the first to establish a biotechnology practice. According to one local survey, the firm "practically patented patents."

The Boston office also won the largest patent damages award ever affirmed by the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Like the city itself, the Boston office continues to build on its rich past and attract dynamic individuals.

Contrary to popular belief, Dallas was not founded by a cowboy. It was founded by a lawyer. John Neely Bryan thought the area would make a good trading post and town.

How right he was. Today, Dallas is home to more than 220,000 businesses, 600 of which are in the high-tech and telecommunications industries.

The Dallas office is one of the country's leading providers of legal services to America's high-tech and high-profile companies. Representative clients of the office include Bank of America Corporation; Mary Kay, Inc.; Dallas Basketball Limited; Alcatel USA, Inc.; and Nokia Corporation.

The range of clients and cases demands lawyers who seek early responsibility; are capable of top-notch legal work; and enjoy practicing at the leading edge of today's legal, business, and technical issues.

In addition to housing the firm's traditional core IP prosecution and litigation practices, the Dallas office is also the birthplace of the firm's Complex Litigation, White Collar, and Corporate and Securities practices.

Dallas has something for everyone! The diverse city offers an extraordinary culinary scene, an arts district, entertainment districts, and world-class shopping. It is home to three professional sports teams, and with an average of 230 sunny days each year, you can enjoy the warm weather almost year-round.

There are two airports in Dallas that offer four-hour flights to either coast. Dallas enjoys the advantages of a large city - the 9th largest city in the United States - while offering one of the lowest costs of living, which is a truly unique combination.

And the Dallas office of Fish is not only in the heart of it all - it's above it. Located high above downtown, our architectural award-winning office offers spectacular views in every direction, and the interior and workspace have been featured in national magazines.

The Dallas office reflects the atmosphere of the city. Come and see why Dallas is the place to be.

The Delaware office is located in the heart of Wilmington's business district, just a short ride on Amtrak from New York and Washington, DC, and less than 30 miles south of Philadelphia.

The area is home to some of the world's most prominent technology companies, including AstraZeneca AB.

Since it opened, the Delaware office has been an integral part of Fish & Richardson's national patent litigation powerhouse by virtue of its location near the Delaware federal court, one of the premier trial courts in the country for intellectual property disputes.

The Delaware office is very actively engaged in this trial practice. Our attorneys are increasingly involved in corporate and other complex litigation in Delaware's highly regarded Chancery Court, and also work on high-profile cases in other courts around the country and in the International Trade Commission.

The office has built a strong regional practice providing expertise to help companies build and maintain patent portfolios. We prosecute patents for some of the firm's most important clients, including leading technology companies in the Philadelphia region, such as AstraZeneca AB.

Prosecution work in the Delaware office covers a range of technologies, including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, hardware, software, and business methods. Our local Delaware patent attorneys work closely with our national staff of more than 200 full-time patent professionals and technical experts, including 80 PhDs.

While the Delaware office has easy access to all the major East Coast cities, Wilmington offers a high quality of life and reasonable cost of living.

The Delaware and New Jersey beaches are less than two hours away by car, and the Chesapeake Bay is even closer.

Delaware has a 200-year tradition of discovery and innovation, and it boasts one of the lowest unemployment rates in the country.

The Houston office is located downtown, overlooking Minute Maid Park, and has added to the firm's traditional IP strength by serving high-tech clients such as Adobe Systems Incorporated and Microsoft Corporation. Houston has become a major center of applied technology.

Houston is the largest city in Texas and the fourth largest in the United States. Located less than an hour's drive from the beaches in Galveston, Houston is connected to the Gulf of Mexico via the 52-mile, man-made Houston Ship Channel, allowing Houston to be an inland city and a major seaport at the same time.

Houston is home to the NASA Johnson Space Center and six professional sports teams. The city is proud of its thriving visual and performing arts scene and is second only to New York City for its number of theater seats, with nearly 8,000.

Houston is one of only a handful of cities to boast resident companies that perform 12 months a year in all four performing arts: ballet, opera, symphony, and theater, including the Tony Award-winning Alley Theater.

New York has been called "The Capital of the World." There's no bigger city than the Big Apple - we've even got the big clients to prove it: Nokia and NHL Enterprises, to name a couple.

Being in the New York office means you're exposed to major cases and major clients. This office truly has the best of both worlds. You'll enjoy the camaraderie of a small office but the high-profile cases found almost exclusively in large firms.

The New York office enjoys a unique and advantageous combination: the office maintains a small-firm atmosphere yet is a vital part of a major national intellectual property, technology, complex litigation, and corporate services law firm.

The litigators work on complex cases, including intellectual property, in federal and state courts.

The patent prosecution and counseling team includes attorneys and technology specialists.

Trademark attorneys prosecute before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and litigate before its Trademark Trial Court as well as in the Appeal Board and federal courts.

What's more, being located in Midtown Manhattan means being close to theaters, concert halls, and great restaurants.

And it's only a quick cab or subway ride before you're downtown, walking around Chinatown or through SoHo. Ride uptown and head over to Central Park for rollerblading, or head to the Hamptons for a weekend away.

At the San Diego office, our junior lawyers get courtroom and client exposure early and often. Maybe that's why our trial lawyers are recognized among the nation's elite, achieving the National Law Journal's "Top Win" status repeatedly.

At the same time, leading technology companies and cutting-edge start-ups alike trust our patent prosecutors to secure groundbreaking patents that offer maximum protection and stand up at trial.

Who are these clients? Microsoft Corporation and Adobe Systems Incorporated, just to name a couple. Located in one of the nation's premier telecommunications and biotechnology centers, the San Diego office truly boasts world-class clientele.

This office is proud of its pro bono representation, including work for clients such as Girl Scouts San Diego Imperial County, Inc., and San Diego Wildfire Legal Aid Clinic.

San Diego is undeniably sun, surf, and sand. Although it is the nation's seventh largest city, San Diego also may be the most livable, offering easy access to surf, mountains, and desert, plus a climate that can't be beat.

With an average temperature of 70 degrees, San Diego offers year-round golf, tennis, surfing, biking, rollerblading, camping, and rock climbing.

Located in the middle of it all, our office reflects this casual yet energetic attitude that makes San Diego unique. So, get in, get busy, and then go get some sun.

The February/March 2007 issue of Minnesota Law & Politics named us as one of the top 50 largest law firms in the state. We also were considered a "provider of expertise" by Twin Cities Business in its "Biosciences 2006" special report.

With recognition like this it's not a surprise that our clients generally make headlines. The Twin Cities office represents a host of high-profile clients, including Porsche Cars North America; 3M Innovative Properties; Cargill, Inc.; the University of Minnesota; and Allergan, Inc.

Our attorneys, along with the other offices, represented Fresenius Medical Care in 2006 in a jury trial that rejected Baxter International's infringement claim and damages request for $87 million, achieving a jury verdict that invalidated all four patents-at-issue.

And Minnesota Law & Politics named our successful jury verdict for our client, in 3M Co. v. Avery Dennison Corporation, as the top intellectual property lawsuit of the year.

So, now that you know a little bit about our office and a little bit about our team, here's a little bit about our city: only Minneapolis could so perfectly combine the fast pace of a big city with the safe comforts of a small town.

Maybe that's why Kiplinger's Personal Finance ranked Minneapolis/St. Paul #2 among America's “Smart Cities,” based on affordability and livability.

Come to think of it, Minneapolis is consistently ranked among the best places to live. But don't take our word for it – come and see for yourself.

Washington, DC. – this city is quite literally the foundation of our legal system. This is where you can pass the White House on your way to work. It's where you can see members of the House and Senate making their way into the US Capitol. And it's where the US Supreme Court hands down historical legal opinion. How could you not be inspired?

The best part about the DC office is that there is as much happening inside as there is outside. Our extensive prosecution, litigation, trademark, and technology-oriented FDA and FCC regulatory practices offer attorneys the opportunity to develop broad and varied practices.

What's more, the DC office specializes in complex technologies, including computer hardware and software, the Internet, chemistry, medical devices, drug technology, and electrical equipment and devices. Plus, since we're just minutes from the US Patent and Trademark Office, we also have the opportunity to provide specialized patent prosecution services.

Now that you know what we do, let us tell you some of the companies we do it for. Our prestigious client list includes Allergan, Inc.; AstraZeneca AB; LG Electronics, Inc.; Microsoft Corporation; and Nokia Corporation.
