Simon Bruhn advises on, prosecutes, and enforces trademarks, designs, and patents worldwide and helps ensure his clients’ intellectual property rights and trade secrets are well protected.

Simon advises national and international clients in Germany and abroad in all areas of intellectual property from trademark, copyright, and trade secret protection to unfair competition and patent and design law issues. Simon represents clients in proceedings before German and EU courts and trademark offices. Clients rely on him for his incisive counsel and judicial and extra-judicial enforcement and defense of their IP rights. With central and local divisions of the Unified Patent Court opening in Munich, Simon also supports clients in relation to unitary patents and corresponding proceedings before the UPC.

A good listener and an excellent communicator, Simon gains a clear understanding of his clients' wants, needs, and concerns. Then he formulates a strategy based on their specific circumstances and goals. Clients appreciate his accessibility, responsiveness, clarity, and skill in guiding them on the best path forward. He readily adapts to changing circumstances, helping his clients reevaluate and prepare for the future from a position of strength.

Simon’s experience includes representing clients in wide-ranging industries, from semiconductor and software technology companies to businesses in the life sciences and consumer goods sectors. He is also currently engaged in pro bono representation of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2017, helping it protect and enforce its trademarks in the EU and throughout the world.

Based in Munich, Simon is admitted to practice in both Germany and New York.
