About Shruti

Shruti Abhyankar is a technology specialist in the Washington, D.C., office of Fish & Richardson P.C. She focuses her practice on patent prosecution support in the electrical, mechanical, and computer technologies, with expertise in telecommunications, e-commerce, cloud computing, mobile devices, networking, wireless standards, IOT, and radio frequency domains. Having worked with foreign counsel in the United Kingdom, Canada, China, Korea, Japan, and India, she has extensive experience handling international patent prosecution, as well as all aspects of patent prosecution in the United States, including drafting utility and design patent applications, responding to office actions, leading examiner interviews, and assisting attorneys with patentability, validity, freedom-to-operate, and patent landscape analyses. She also maintains proficiency with commercial patent and non-patent literature search databases.

Prior to joining Fish, Shruti practiced for two years as a technical specialist at an intellectual property law firm. She also worked for three years as a patent analyst at an intellectual property search firm. There, she conducted patentability and validity searches related to a wide variety of technologies. Before transitioning her career focus to intellectual property, Shruti worked as a radio frequency (RF) engineer for two years, managing LTE planning, optimization, and support.
