About Matthew

Matthew Kayrish is a Technology Specialist in the Silicon Valley office of Fish & Richardson P.C. He focuses is practice on patent prosecution and counseling in electrical and computer technologies. Mr. Kayrish handles all aspects of patent prosecution practice, including preparing patent applications, responding to office actions, performing prior art and patentability analyses, and counseling clients on the state of the art in their industries. His prior career as an electrical engineer for over a decade has given him significant expertise in a wide range of high-technology fields, including machine learning, image processing, pattern recognition, power distribution systems, artificial intelligence, RADAR and LiDAR, CT scans and X-Ray imaging, and graphical user interfaces, among many others. He also previously worked as a Patent Examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office, where he analyzed patent applications in the dynamic data storage and retrieval technology art unit. In addition to his patent practice, he is an adjunct professor at the University of Missouri – Kansas City, where he teaches junior and senior level students on microcomputer architecture, digital design, and engineering project management.

Mr. Kayrish is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science with a focus on artificial intelligence, as well as a J.D. with a focus on intellectual property.
