With extensive experience evaluating and managing trademark portfolios, John works closely with his clients to develop and implement strategies that best suit their needs not only now, but with an eye to the future.

John’s practice focuses on supporting all aspects of a brand — whether that be trademark selection and clearance, branding, advertising, corporate due diligence, licensing, or enforcement in District Court and before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. In one significant success, John worked on the team that planned and executed a rebrand for a multibillion-dollar healthcare data company. Over a two-year period, John worked with firms around the world to develop an international trademark portfolio spanning more than 50 countries.

John also does extensive pro bono work for a variety of charities and non-profits. Since 2014, he has served as a trustee associate for the Nativity School of Worcester, an independent middle school that provides all-scholarship education to underserved boys.

Prior to joining Fish & Richardson, John worked as a trademark fellow for a Fortune 15 company. While in law school, John worked as a judicial intern for the Honorable John M. Conroy, magistrate judge of the District of Vermont.

In his spare time, John enjoys sampling new whiskeys and beers, and trying to keep up with his two young boys.
