About Irene

Irene Hwang is a law clerk who focuses her practice on patent litigation. She has a broad range of experience supporting litigation matters in district court, the International Trade Commission (ITC), the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (CAFC), and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). Her experience includes drafting claim construction briefs, responses to inter partes review petitions, and appellate briefs to the CAFC. She has performed legal research and analysis on issues in contract law, antitrust law, civil procedure, and patent law. She has worked on patents in the solar cell, lithium-ion battery, semiconductor, circuit board, and signal processing fields, among others. During law school, Irene was the Federal Circuit Panel Writer for the Harvard Journal of Law and Technology.

Outside of her patent practice, she devotes her time to immigration- and human rights-related legal advocacy, and has worked with the Harvard Immigration and Refugee Clinic at Greater Boston Legal Services and Physicians for Human Rights.
