Overview

Alyaman Amer focuses his practice on a broad range of intellectual property matters, with a particular focus on patent prosecution. Alyaman also provides technological advice in support of validity and infringement and conducts patentability analyses in the electrical, mechanical and materials, computer-based technologies, and software areas.

Alyaman has experience in prosecuting and managing patent portfolios directed to telecommunications/wireless communications, such as 5G NR, LTE, CDMA, W-CDMA, IEEE 802.11, and Bluetooth. He is also involved in the pre-suit due diligence, litigation, post-grant review, and patent opinions of standards essential patents (SEPs) that relate to these technologies.

Alyaman has also represented clients on a wide range of other technical issues, including oil and gas drilling, seismic image processing, computer architecture, biological implants, mobile applications, robotics, autonomous vehicles, image analysis and compression, object-recognition algorithms, machine-learning algorithms, light detection and ranging (LIDAR), resonators and waveguides, semiconductor design and fabrication, battery technology, and television broadcast technology.

Prior to joining Fish & Richardson, Alyaman was a patent agent for a law firm in Chicago, where he was a member of the firm’s electrical technologies practice. His experience includes academic research in battery technology at Texas A&M and an engineering position at a telecommunications engineering company in Dubai. Alyaman has also co-authored several articles in intellectual property publications.
