Overview

Ahmed Abdelqader focuses his practice on drafting and prosecuting patent applications directed to electrical engineering and computer-related technologies.

Ahmed has experience drafting patent applications in a broad range of technologies, including machine learning, clean technology, optimization and control, radar systems, optical devices, and financial services. He works with a wide range of clients, from individual inventors to Fortune 500 companies.

Prior to joining Fish & Richardson, Ahmed worked in the defense industry for several years as a systems engineer for missile defense radar systems. His experience includes performing trade studies to demonstrate cutting-edge radar capabilities through upgraded design efforts for radar programs and R&D projects by leveraging his background in modeling and simulation. Ahmed has experience leading teams to test, integrate, and verify complex simulation software for critical radar software build deliveries. As an individual contributor, he developed technical skills across various radar capabilities and software products through designing, developing, and debugging simulation software; providing key results to technical leadership; and building a substantial background in signal processing. Additionally, Ahmed has technical experience in electric grid power distribution, space weather physics, and optical engineering.

Ahmed earned his master’s degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he specialized in digital signal processing with applications in radar, machine learning, communications, and image processing.
