Background

Ryan Frei is an associate in the Southern California office of Fish & Richardson. His practice focuses on complex patent litigation for clients in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and electronics industries. Dr. Frei has represented clients in Federal District Courts, in Section 337 proceedings before the International Trade Commission, and in appeals before the Federal Circuit. Dr. Frei’s litigation experience includes developing infringement, validity, and claim construction strategies, as well as drafting case dispositive motions and appellate briefs.

Dr. Frei earned his J.D. at the University of Michigan Law School, where he was an articles editor for the Michigan Telecommunications and Technology Law Review. He earned his Ph.D. at the University of Oregon’s Institute of Molecular Biology and wrote his dissertation on the mechanisms regulating non-muscle myosin II during cytokinesis.
