Boston, MA, July 19, 2012 – Fish & Richardson announced today that Juanita R. Brooks has been named to the inaugural edition of “Top 250 Women in Litigation” by Benchmark Litigation.  The guide honors 250 female litigators in all 50 U.S. states, plus the District of Columbia, for their achievements in the field.

Ms. Brooks has a nationwide trial practice, specializing in complex intellectual property (IP) litigation.  She has been first chair on over 140 career trials, and currently manages an average caseload of nearly 30 active patent infringement cases annually.  She assisted in drafting the local patent rules for the Southern District of California.  Prior to joining Fish to focus on IP matters, Ms. Brooks spent 22 years handling a variety of high profile criminal and civil trials.  She received her J.D. from Yale Law School in 1977 and her B.A. from San Diego State University in 1974.

“We are very proud that Juanita has been selected for inclusion in this exclusive and prestigious guide.  This is a well-deserved recognition for her many accomplishments in the courtroom,” said Ann Cathcart Chaplin, Litigation Practice Group Leader at Fish & Richardson.
