​Principal Karl Renner was quoted in the Law360 article "5 Burning Questions For The Courts On AIA Reviews" in regard to unresolved issues in post-grant proceedings.

"There’s an interesting dichotomy between situations where the institution goes against the petitioner versus for the petitioner," he said. If the board decides not to institute a review, the Federal Circuit has said that cannot be appealed, but if a review is instituted, the court appears to be open to reviewing some aspects of the initial decision, he noted.
