Yesterday, the USPTO published a Federal Register notice regarding an interim rule on requirements for filing a request for “prioritized” examination of patent applications (i.e., a Track One or Track I application). These rules went into effect on March 5, 2014. The interim rule applies to any prioritized examination application filed on or after September 16, 2012, in which a first office action has not been mailed.
